In Milwaukee, the Menomonee Valley was long an industrial sector cut off from the rest of the city.  It offered jobs to the middle class, but left behind environmental degradation.  But for a decade the city and its partners have been revitalizing the corridor, cleaning up the landscape, managing stormwater, and bringing back industry.  This isn’t a gentrified entertainment district, it is–again–jobs for the middle class.
